Our Sunday Mornings
Blackhill Baptist
Church
Blackhill Baptist Church welcomes Christians and those who seek to connect to Christianity in the Consett and Blackhill area.
We aim to make contact with and encourage others to join us in our life-changing Christian journey.
We are a friendly Christian community where we welcome others to join us in our worship and service to God.
Our vision is to make an impact for God, here in Consett, County Durham by helping people understand the enriching messages of eternal hope given to us by Jesus Christ through His words and deeds.
Everyone is welcome, no matter your age, beliefs, or background. Come just as you are - we'd love to get to know you better.
Our Sunday Services.
The format of the Sunday morning service here at Blackhill Baptist Church is as follows:
We have both upbeat and reflective Worship: The service usually begins with a time of worship through singing, Times of reflection and more.
We have Scripture readings: One or more passages from the Bible may be read aloud, often with a particular theme or Bible story for our service.
We have a Sermon from our minister or from a visiting speaker.
We have prayers of intercession and times of reflection in our services to focus on God's word.
We do take communion (bread and wine)in some of our morning services. We believe it is an important part of our faith, remembering the Lord Jesus Christ and his sacrifice on the cross. We practise open communion and anyone who considers themselves a follower of Jesus is invited to join in communion.

Every 1st and 3rd Sunday we also have an evening service which starts at 7pm
Fellowship and Community
We do have opportunities for fellowship with other churches. We meet with the methodist church at the community centre once a month. We also have tea and coffee after every morning service and before every evening service when you are welcome to join us.
